Value Proposition

The one-line answer to "why should I buy from you instead of the alternatives?"

What it is

A value proposition is the single sentence that explains: who you help, what outcome you deliver, why you're different. If buyers can't repeat it, you don't have one.

Three-part formula

For [specific buyer] who [specific job], we deliver [specific outcome] unlike [the next best alternative] because [the specific reason].

Why it matters

Without it, every paid ad starts from zero. Every sales call begins with explanation. Every piece of content needs context. With it, the work compounds.

Common failure

Generic. "We help businesses grow." Specific = "We help SaaS founders pull pricing signals across 10 competitors in 21 days." One ranks. One doesn't.
