Marketing built around buyers seeking you out, not the reverse.
What it is
SEO, content, brand, community. Buyer comes to you ready or ready-ish. Distinct from push (ads, outbound, cold).
Common mistake
Treating pull as cheaper than push. Pull is cheaper per acquisition long-term + slower + heavier upfront investment.
Healthy pattern
Healthy mix: 60-70% pull for mature categories, 30-50% pull for early-stage. Pure push is fragile; pure pull is slow.
