Average Order Value (AOV)

Average revenue per transaction — total revenue divided by total orders.

What it is

AOV = total revenue ÷ total orders in a period. The fastest way to grow revenue without acquiring more customers.

How to raise it

1. Bundling — pair related products. 2. Upsell — offer next tier at checkout. 3. Cross-sell — recommend complementary items. 4. Free shipping threshold — "spend $X more to unlock."

Why it beats CAC reduction

Cutting CAC has a floor (you can't spend negative money). Raising AOV has no ceiling. Same traffic, more revenue, same cost.

Where the signal is

Pull competitor checkout flows. Note what they bundle, what they upsell, what threshold they set for free shipping. Steal the structure, not the product.
